Health Care Services

Organizations in the health care services industry face growing and complex challenges in balancing the need for compliance with regulations such as HIPPA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act), and the risks of insufficient capacity while delivering efficient quality care.

Improving Care Quality and Resource Utilization

The challenges of staffing, meeting quality expectations, providing superior service, and building a strong physician and nursing base require strategic thinking and planning, and alignment with functional strategy in the key clinical areas. This enables an integrated and holistic view of patient flow networks, information and material flows throughout the health care system, and the impact on capacity load levels and utilization. > Learn more ...

Health Care Patient Network Capacity Optimization

The Health Care Capacity Optimization solution is a discrete-event simulation based solutions package built on our EPCAD OPA. This application allows managers to create simulations to analyze the care and patient networks, and volume flexibility options so they can gain insight into the health care system operations to make informed decisions. > Learn more ...

Health Care Operations Capacity Optimization

Unlike traditional approaches that use bed capacity as the preferred unit of planning, the Lean unit for planning is the patient care network, and the elements that can constrain them (the bottlenecks). In some cases, this could be the number of beds, operating theaters, or nurses, etc. The value network approach allows users to consider the extended value network and the resource capacity constraints in developing optimal schedules to guide operations.
